The magazine Tschernobyl is about the lies told by governments, how they keep information undisclosed to prevent panic, but also to avoid criticism. The Chernobyl disaster occurred on April 26th, 1986. But are things handled differently today? To signal the radioactive danger, I used a flashing yellow, creeping across the pages or in places one would not expect it, like the radiation itself. Sometimes I left important words out, similar to what the government did with essential information. All pictures are taken in the woods of Austria in an abandoned cottage, still creating the lonely and shattered feeling of Chernobyl and symbolizing that such disasters could happen in any country.
